The 2025 Mazda 3 continues to be one of my favorite compact cars available today. While there aren’t any dramatic changes, some subtle updates are worth discussing. Plus, I’ll share a valuable resource where you can save a substantial amount on new Mazda. Stay tuned for that towards the end.

New Updates for the 2025 Mazda 3

Starting with the hatchback, my preferred version of the 2025 Mazda 3, there’s now an entry-level S package that lowers the base price. However, the entry-level wheels might appeal to some, so I recommend considering the Sport model. You get stylish 18-inch black wheels and additional features for a bit more money. Mazda has also introduced Alexa built-in technology, allowing hands-free connectivity. Additionally, the car now offers Mazda’s online navigation technology with over-the-air updates.

2025 Mazda 3 Pricing

The 2025 Mazda 3 sedan starts at $23,900, while the hatchback is about $1,000 more. These prices exclude the $1,185 destination fee.

Within the 2025 Mazda 3 lineup, the Carbon Edition stands out as a great option. Available in both naturally aspirated 4-cylinder and turbo versions, the Carbon Edition offers an excellent balance of features, looks, and performance. Even the base model comes well-equipped, featuring front-wheel drive, a 191-horsepower engine, and advanced safety tech like blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

Trim Levels and Features

-Base S Model: Includes an 8.8-inch infotainment screen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker sound system, and a rearview camera.

– Carbon Edition: Adds wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, and all-wheel drive.

Premium Model: This model offers a 12-speaker Bose audio system and the option of a six-speed manual transmission, a rarity in 2025.

Engine Options and Performance

Mazda offers two engine choices: the naturally aspirated 4-cylinder and the turbocharged version. The naturally aspirated engine is sufficient for daily driving, delivering smooth performance and a pleasant sound. However, it features cylinder deactivation, which some may find disappointing. The turbocharged engine, on the other hand, offers more power, with 227 horsepower on regular fuel or 250 horsepower with premium fuel.

Saving Money New 2025 Mazda 3

Now, as promised, here’s how you can save on a new Mazda. A broker named Auto Companion is offering significant discounts on new Mazdas, although the Mazda 3 might have lower discounts than other models like the CX-5 or CX-30. Auto Companion’s free leasing calculator can also help you see all available incentives in your area, ensuring you don’t leave any money on the table.

2025 Mazda 3 Hatchback Unchanged But Has A New Trick

Many wondered if, after being presented in 2019, Mazda would have profound aesthetic changes for the 2025 Mazda 3. That model has just been announced in the United States and answers precisely that question, which could be both yes and no.

The car has been visually unchanged since 2019 and only received a tech update in 2024, with a new, larger touchscreen, wireless charger, and USB-C charging ports instead of the old USB ones. It was expected that the exterior would change after the infotainment upgrade, but the 2025 Mazda3 remains visually unchanged.

The Mazda 3 2025

However, there is good news: the 2025 Mazda 3 has a trick prepared, one more for those who need the best and most complete connectivity in their cars. As in the CX-70, Mazda will integrate Amazon Alexa natively into the central screen of the 2025 Mazda3, allowing you to change parameters such as the car’s temperature or the radio station using your voice, although only in specific top-of-the-range versions.

The engine lineup remains unchanged, starting with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 186 hp and the 2.5-liter turbo with 227 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque in the Signature, still associated with a six-speed automatic transmission and with all-wheel drive in the Signature. It remains to be seen whether the 2.0-litre mild-hybrid engine will appear in the hatchback since it is now exclusive to the 2025 Mazda 3 Sedan and the CX-30.

Mazda3 Hatchback 2025: More Technology

The 2025 Mazda 3 Hatchback was presented in the United States and answers many of the most common questions buyers have in Mexico. It was presented in 2019 and received only a slight technological update in the form of a larger infotainment screen and ports. Regarding USB-C charging by 2024, there was a question of whether we would see cosmetic changes or even a deep facelift for the 2025 model year.

The answer is no. The 2025 Mazda 3 Hatchback and the sedan that will follow in a few more weeks are precisely identical to the 2024 from an aesthetic point of view, and the cabin remains intact. However, there is good news for those buying one, as it will take the Amazon Alexa integration that debuted in the CX-70 and that we will surely see in the rest of the Mazda range as the months go by. The system is exclusive to specific versions in the United States but allows you to change car parameters such as the temperature or the radio station with voice commands.

Mazda3 Hatchback 2025: Will the mild hybrid arrive?

There is a change reserved for the market of the neighboring country to the north in the form of the price, which is more accessible. This is not because it has dropped in price but because an entry version called S has been introduced. This is equivalent to what we have in Mexico as’ i’, only available in the Mazda 3 Sedan.

The engines are the same, starting with the well-known 186 hp 2.5-liter SkyActiv-G. In the US market, the 2025 Mazda 3 Hatchback can still be paired with a six-speed manual transmission, although in Mexico, it is exclusively automatic. In our country, the manual transmission is reserved for the Mazda3 Sedan in I and I Sport versions.

As the top of the range, the Sky Activ-G Turbo will continue in the Signature with 227 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque associated with a six-speed automatic transmission and the i-Activ AWD all-wheel drive system. It remains to be seen whether the 2.0-liter, 153 HP eSky Activ-G mild-hybrid engine will be integrated into the 2025 Mazda3 Hatchback range for the 2025 model year, which has been offered for a couple of years in the Mazda3 Sedan and CX-30.

The perfect combination of this turbo engine and i-Activ AWD technology provides a safe and exciting driving experience. Models equipped with the 2.5 turbo engine ensure superior control in various driving conditions, making every journey exciting and confident.

In terms of efficiency, the Mazda3 Turbo demonstrates its capabilities by achieving impressive fuel consumption. In the city, it achieves up to 11.9 km/l (28 mpg), while on the highway, it achieves a remarkable efficiency of 15.7 km/l (37 mpg). Combined efficiency is 13.2 km/l (31 mpg), balancing performance and fuel economy exceptionally.

Advanced Technology in the Mazda 3

The Mazda 3 has elevated its status by incorporating various advanced technologies and safety features that enhance the driving experience. Among these innovations is a state-of-the-art touchscreen infotainment system, which provides an intuitive and easy-to-use interface. Smartphone integration allows for seamless connectivity, ensuring drivers keep their devices safely at hand.

Voice command functionality adds a level of convenience. It allows drivers to perform various actions without taking their eyes off the road, improving practicality and promoting safety by minimizing distractions while driving. The Cupra Leon presents an attractive mechanical offer, with plug-in hybrid versions and a powerful 300-hp variant. It competes directly with iconic models such as the Golf GTI and the Honda Civic Type R.

In our comparison, we highlight the Mazda 3 e-Skyactiv X’s 186 hp engine, which incorporates unique technology on the market. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds and with an average consumption of 5.3 l/100 km, the Mazda3 offers exciting and efficient performance.

2025 Mazda 3 Drive Opinions

Mazda 3 drivers praise its modern design and elegant aesthetics. However, this model’s attraction is not limited to its exterior alone; when entering its spacious interior, drivers enjoy its comfort and intelligent design.

Every element has been carefully designed to maximize space, giving occupants a feeling of spaciousness and comfort. From the ergonomic layout of controls to the quality of the materials, the Mazda 3 offers an interior environment that reflects attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.

From the intuitive touchscreen infotainment system to advanced connectivity options, the 2025 Mazda 3 integrates the latest technology, enhancing comfort and entertainment during every journey.

Mazda 3 Care and Maintenance

Mazda is revolutionizing the vehicle maintenance experience by leaving behind the conventional paper service book replacing it with a digital version. The Electronic Service Book, known as DSR, becomes the oracle of Mazda 3 care.

As far as 2025 Mazda 3 maintenance is concerned, check-ups begin after the vehicle’s first year of ownership or when it reaches 20,000 kilometers, a figure that aligns with the segment average. The Electronic Maintenance Book, faithful to the information in the manual, highlights the importance of using the appropriate lubricants to optimize the durability of the mechanics.

Periodic reviews

Although the company offers its oils, any quality oil will do, as long as they are not mixed. In addition, it is essential to check the oil level periodically to prevent unpleasant surprises. The first oil change is carried out at the first service, and these interventions are repeated annually or every 20,000 kilometers. The air and fuel filters are inspected for every three services, while the cabin filter is checked for every two.
